Advance Care Alliance of New York (ACA/NY) and LIFEPlan CCO NY (LIFEPlan) Form Strategic Partnership
Two of New York State’s Largest Care Coordination Organizations Partner to Expand Service Access and Enhance Advocacy for Individuals with Developmental and/or Intellectual Disabilities
Advance Care Alliance of New York (ACA/NY) and LIFEPlan CCO NY (LIFEPlan), two leading Care Coordination Organizations (CCOs), announced today that they have formed a strategic partnership which will strengthen their support delivery system and operational structure. Through this partnership, the organizations will serve a combined 44,000 members throughout 45 counties, which will significantly expand access to quality services and enhance advocacy statewide for individuals with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) and their families.
The collective experience and best practices of both organizations will extend their ability to provide high-quality care coordination services to help members lead happy, healthy, and meaningful lives. “This affiliation furthers the ongoing collaboration between our two organizations and will build on the strengths of both ACA/NY and LIFEPlan in providing better care for people with I/DD,” said Steven Vernikoff, Chairman of ACA/NY. Louis Tehan, Chairman of LIFEPlan added, “Today’s announcement of the ACA/NY and LIFEPlan partnership brings together two of the largest Care Coordination Organizations serving many members across our great state of New York.”
The strategic partnership creates a new Management Services Organization (MSO) which will be led by Chief Executive Officer Nicholas Cappoletti. Nick currently serves as LIFEPlan’s CEO and will remain in that role. Nick will assume the role of CEO at ACA/NY as well. “This is an investment in the future of ACA/NY and LIFEPlan, the people we serve and our dedicated staff. We will expand our comprehensive services and enhance the quality and breadth of care offered by our organizations,” said Cappoletti, who is also the parent of a child with I/DD receiving services.
“Representatives of both organizations will work seamlessly over the coming months to evaluate opportunities that our strategic partnership has uniquely positioned us to invest in for our future,” he added.
This MSO will enhance the services provided by ACA/NY and LIFEPlan and enable them to achieve more efficient operations. “We are very proud of what we have accomplished over the years through our hard work, dedication and performance,” commented Lewis Grossman, former Chief Executive Officer of ACA/NY, and current consultant for ACA/NY. People with I/DD and their families need and deserve access to responsive, person-centered care coordination services. Both organizations’ leaders and managers share the same vision and passion for supporting a community where people with intellectual and developmental disabilities live lives of choice, inclusion, and participation.
